More Program Dates in 2018!

Posted on May 29, 2018

We have some exciting public programs coming up this fall, including sourdough bread making, veggie fermentation, and Medicine Bag workshops. Click here to register!

Because of the overwhelmingly positive response to our programs, the 2017 City of Fort Saskatchewan Council approved the resources to increase the number of programs offered to 83. Now in 2018, this number has increased once more.  In the 2018-19 school year, the Fort Heritage Precinct will be offering 91 programs to grade 4 and 5 classes.

So, you’re probably wondering what this means for you as a teacher and your students, right? It means we have even more dates available for the 2018/19 school year. If you wish to book a slot for your class that this year, you can do so at 9:00 a.m. on June 1st by accessing our School Programs Page, choosing the program you wish to attend, and clicking on the “Register Now” button. Be aware that our school programs book up really, really quickly, so be prepared for the June 1st date!

"The tour of the Precinct was really interesting and very engaging for the children. There were so many hands on activities for them to participate in that they were always engaged. I love that they are allowed to touch and explore many of the items around the precinct. That makes such a difference to keep them engaged, on task and motivated. The learning connections between what we talked about in school and what we saw were evident in the conversations between the kids and the interpreters."
