Fort Heritage Precinct Edu-Kits

We are thrilled to announce that each class attending one of our History Centre programs during the 2019/2020 school year will receive a discount of $105.93! Thank you to our sponsors at the Edmonton & District Historical Society, the Phyllis Arnold Learning Fund, and at Nutrien! For more details, please contact the Programs Coordinator at museumprograms@fortsask.ca.

Our Edu-kits are perfect for groups that are unable to visit the Fort Heritage Precinct but would still like to interact with Fort Saskatchewan’s history in a tangible, engaging way. Each Edu-kit, which includes a variety of historical items and artifacts, is designed to allow students to explore different facets of late 19th to early 20th century life from the comfort and convenience of their own classroom.

We currently have 6 Edu-kits available for rental. A full list of the kits, including details about their contents, can be found here: Edu-kit Information Sheet

Pick Up and Drop Off

If you are interested in renting an Edu-kit, we request that you pick it up and drop it off between the hours of 10am and 4pm at the Fort Heritage Precinct. Please note: Some of our Edu-kits are quite large, so please arrive to pick up the Edu-kits with plenty of room in your vehicle for transportation.

"The tour of the Precinct was really interesting and very engaging for the children. There were so many hands on activities for them to participate in that they were always engaged. I love that they are allowed to touch and explore many of the items around the precinct. That makes such a difference to keep them engaged, on task and motivated. The learning connections between what we talked about in school and what we saw were evident in the conversations between the kids and the interpreters."
